Anders Nilsson wins WD GTC @ Birmingham! |
|
Mar 08, 2010 - 1:41 PM - by baristabrian
|
Anders Nillson grabs the win in the World division's 1st GTC points event in 2010.
Anders had a stunning weekend here at Birmingham taking pole, fast lap, most laps led, and the victory. He overcame what looked to be his only glitch, of the weekend, that being a less than perfect start, by making a brilliant pass overtaking Hein Howeling on lap 14 and never looking back. Filling out the podium were Steen Franta 2nd, and Neal Johnson 3rd.

Hein Howeling makes a great start and takes the early leed.

Fun Series F1 1967 Mexico City: Congrats Kris |
|
Mar 08, 2010 - 12:49 AM - by Phil E
|
Kris Hudson gets the triple with the fast qualification, fast lap, and the race win at Mexico City. The track was daunting, as the fast line required putting the car right up against the barriers where one small mistake and your race is over. I know I'm starting to understand Sir Jackie's position on safety in these events!

ILMS GT Challenge Daytona Race Recap |
|
Mar 07, 2010 - 7:13 AM - by JTninja
|
Thanks to Mr. Tami for the following report.
March 6th, 2010.
The start of Champion Motorsports Grand Touring Challenge kicked off last Thursday night, March 4th of 2010. After the long off season, everybody packed up their equipment and headed down to Daytona, Florida, for round 1 of the GTC series. The 2.4 hour long event would be the first of 9 rounds in this seasons championship.
After a frustrating 2009 season, Champion Racing was looking to start fresh by having a better season for 2010. The GT1 Corvette C6R was sold (Ironically enough, to Team Modena, a former Aston Martin team). The team bought one of the new BMW E92 GTRs available for this years upcoming season, but due to a major crash... [Read More]

Announcing: POR Wednesday Night Rallysprints |
|
Mar 02, 2010 - 1:54 PM - by spspears

I've read lots of enthusiastic remarks from those who have recently discovered (or rediscovered) Richard Burns Rally and the Rallyesim mod. I also know many of you are heavily involved in other racing series (or in life outside of the sim world ) and don't have much time to devote to RBR. Or perhaps you'd just like an informal atmosphere to try out RSRBR and improve your rally skills.
In response, we at Press on REGARDLESS have... [Read More]

ILMS Divisional Challenge Results from Spa |
|
Feb 28, 2010 - 10:05 PM - by mufasa3
|

The first points race of the ILMS 2010 era was held today at Spa. This was also the first race in the CMS Divisional Challenge. This new series pits the drivers of the North American Division against the drivers from the World Division for CMS bragging rights. Drivers earn individual points for the series but also earn team points for finishing in the top five in their respective class.
Ian Mills, pictured above, lead the field of 22 and went on to take the overall win in his LMP1 Acura. The 2.4 hour event had some great racing and put the drivers and their machines to... [Read More]

CMS 2009 Member of the Year |
|
Feb 27, 2010 - 1:08 AM - by Mike Tribble

The nominations are in, the votes are tallied and the results have been sealed inside a mayonnaise jar on Funk and Wagner's front porch. But before we see who was selected I would like to thank everyone that submitted nominations and to thank the admins for their swift and fair handed votes.
Champion Motorsports is unique among the on-line sim racing community in that we value sportsmanship and fair play above absolute speed or race wins. It is more important to be respected by your peers here at CMS then it is to be this week's champion or hot shoe. Absolute speed has little to do with one's reputation at Champion Motorsports. Yet we ARE a competitive league and those that stand on the podium each week demonstrate their... [Read More]
